Hello! I'm Lexy (they/them). I'm a passionate actor, deviser, and teacher. I love exploring new and interesting ways to nourish authentic communication. As a theatre artist, my focus is surprising the audience by subverting expectations. As a trans non-binary person, I focus on breaking down harmful conventions within American theatre. I received a BS in Arts Administration - Theatre from Butler University in 2018, where I focused on using theatre for community engagement and arts education. I also studied acting at the Moscow Art Theatre School, where my theatrical style flourished. What can I say, I'm a hoe for Stanislavski and Chekhov. I'm also a self titled "puppet bitch" with a particular interest in constructing and operating shadow puppets. Before the pandemic, I taught as a full time self-empowerment high school theatre teacher from 2019-2020 in Indianapolis with React. I moved to Chicago in the summer of 2020. Since then, I've worked with Mudlark and Northlight, as a teaching artist and director. I am also an artistic associate with Playmakers Laboratory |
