About Me
Lexy (pronouns they/them) is a passionate actor, deviser, and teacher who is eager to explore new and interesting ways to nourish authentic communication onstage and off. As a theatre artist, they love surprising their audience by subverting expectations. As a trans non-binary person, they put an emphasis on breaking down harmful conventions within American theatre. They advocate for themself and their community in the rehearsal room, on stage, and in life.
They received a BS in Arts Administration - Theatre from Butler University in 2018, where they focused on using theatre for community engagement and art education. They also studied acting at the Moscow Art Theatre School during a summer intensive.
Lexy taught as a full time self-empowerment high school theatre teacher through 2019 and 2020 in Indianapolis with React. They moved to Chicago in the summer of 2020. Since then, they've worked with Mudlark and Northlight, as a teaching artist and director. They are also an artistic associate with Playmakers Laboratory
